Giant Schnauzers are strong and large dogs with natural guarding and with a characteristic of being territorial.   1. Litter Size

Litter size varies depending on which type of Schnauzer you are getting. For a Giant Schnauzer, it will have a litter of 5 to 8 puppies.

  1. Appearance

Your puppy should be seen that it is well fed by its appearance. If you notice that it has a distended abdomen or a pot belly, this may indicate that the puppy is infested with worms which is not a good sign.

  1. Eyes

In choosing the right puppy, the eyes should also be considered, it should be bright and clear without the presence of mucus or discharge around the eyes.

  1. Nose

The pup’s nose should be cool, damp, and clean with no nasal discharge. You should also look for signs of normal breathing with no cough or wheezing.
